As others have said before me, we all feel for you.
I must ask the question, though - Tracker ?????
...plus all my golf clubs etc etc.
Again, as others have said, fcuk the golf clubs! Does the Gym car park have any CCTV ??
...and no gap insurance.
Now this GAP insurance - I just don't get it. I presume you had fully comp insurance, then the insurance company has a legal responsibility to recompense you fully (less any excesses) in order for you to obtain an identical specced motor. With only 3 days of your ownership, there should be no doubt as to the value - and the fourcourt value is also vitally important regarding your "negociations" with your ins co.
As others have stated, post the full details of your stolen car - colour, doors, reg, VIN, engine no, location of theft - so we can all keep a look out!
-
So sorry to hear about your GTI - its making me very paranoid indeed now. Haven't been on here for a couple of days as I've ben so busy otherwise I would have posted sooner. But I still can't understand how they stole it... didn't the alarm go off? My Edition 30 is parked in my garage and isn't leaving until its got tracker fitted.

Illyan, his keys were stolen so Alarm generally doesnt go off!
Ive got my eyes on the look out blowers, not often you come accross a lazer blue GTi,. i see one daily afterall!

ooopss - didn't read the other thread :embarassed:

just a thought, as I'm not sure if this can be done
I'm guessing plates, and visible VINs will probably have been altered already
but can it be logged on the VW service system that the car is stolen and unrecovered?
So even if the plates are changed, the VIN that is logged in the ECU could flash up when (unlikely I know) the car is ever serviced through a main dealer in the future?

The reg plates would be p!55 easy to change. The VINs would be much more difficult, particularly the dash mounted one, as it would mean a screen change. That's why I asked the OP to quote the VIN, and the Engine number too.

It probably can, but that would only be on VW UK systems - not much use if the car is now in eastern Europe, or the Ukranie!
-
OH MY GOD that is awful mate just awful  really gutted for you
Hope there will be a happy ending to all this

Sorry to hear about your pride and joy buddy, This is another warning to all you GTI and R32 owners out there, you are being watched. When my house was robbed on 8-2-2007 http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54495.0 police told me that some ex jail b8stards where going round following people to there home addresses and then stealing keys form homes that night. Here is some tips on how to avoid being an target of crime http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/crime-victims/how-you-can-prevent-crime/stop-vehicle-crime/ I also now that if you fit a clifford alarm with Black Jax, then you also have to enter a code every time you open and close the door, can be thrustrating somtimes, but it would save your vehicle.
