Title: My mk 2 is fillig up with water
Post by: will on 07 March 2007, 12:49
hi my foot wells are filling up with water , I got the driverside slightly elevated to put some new claps on the exhaust , any ideas where it may be leaking from , I am thinking it must be the door membrane ?

Check doors, sunroof seal, heater matrix. Most likely doors though.

HOles by the a pillars on the scuttle panel are probably full of sh!t. Clean them out and it will be fine.

Door membranes would be my guess, check this link out on how to fix, I've just done my Rallye as it was p1ssing in and now I think Noah would be proud.

I'm with Slick.  Had exactly the same problem when I bought the 5-door.  Came out after a wet night to find the passenger footwell with several CM of H20 in there.  Scuttle holes totally blocked.....
