OK, still not having any joy getting the nearside mirror to tilt, i have the following spec gti, i know others have this, but im trying to find out if its because mines DSG and would make it not available????
this is doing my head in........
i have: JUNE 05 GTi, electric mirrors, dimming, dsg gearbox, highline computer. I have read the owners bible back to front and cant find this ANYWHERE. Is there a setting in the highline somewhere to enable this funtion?????.Does anyone have the same spec as i do with this lowering mirror abililty. :undecided:

I thought the auto dipping passenger door mirror was only available as part of the folding mirrors or parking sensors (factory only?) options. An old price list I have (June '06) shows:
"Electrically foldable door mirrors and reverse activated kerb-view adjustment on passenger's door mirror"
"Parking sensors - rear - Including reverse activated kerb-view adjustment on passenger's door mirror"
I.e. neither of the options you list.
I can't see that DSG is going to make any difference.

My (June 05) GTI has folding mirrors and parking sensors, but the nearside mirror doesn't tilt down when reverse is selected. Nor was it mentioned in whatever option list I had when I ordered. I think this must be something that came along later. I had the same feature in a much older Saab a few years ago and found it marginally useful.

I'm sure it's a fairly recent addition to the options list. Certainly wasn't available from launch and I think yours will be too old Phil. I do find it useful though, esp when there are Monza 2's to look after...

oh welll hey ho, mine does have lux pack 1 fitted aswell, but i guess cus shes on 05 wasnt added,
On the subject of Monza II alloys, when i bought mine i pointed out 1 wheel had a scratch on it which they did repair for me, and looked superb,BUT what i noticed yesturday was on the face of the alloy is a very thin layer almost like a plastic protective coating which has started to delaminate or peel away from the shiny face of the alloy, has anyone else seen this b4 or is it worth going back to the dealer and having words as it was repaired in september prior to purchasing the car, do i have grounds to get this fixed f.o.c??

You have to leave the mirror adjustment knob on the drivers door pointing towards the passenger door mirror icon.
Try that, and see if it works!

1st thing i tried TT, and nope it doesnt

Tilting passenger mirror was part of the MY07 changes.
