Title: random cutting out on gti 8v

hi guys,
my R reg gti 8v (engine code AGG) has recently started to cut out where and when every it wants. I could be going at any speed it makes no difference. The oil pressure light comes on and the rev counter returns to zero. Some times it will start straight away and some time it could take 10 to 15 mins!!!!!!
I have replaced the ecu relay and the ignition coil but with no joy.
I suspect the oil has a slight petrol smell but am not completely sure.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
