Post by: dubtastic on 28 February 2007, 00:53
LOVE THE STUFF! apparently it has 2000 uses!.... :nerd:

At christmas last year I got my mk3, the gears were all heavy, clutch was a wee bit tough aswell, thought nothin of it jus that it's "a mans car! grrrr" (dunno much bout cars) neways I thought I'd clean out my engine bay with a lil WD. as it looked a wee bit grimey Initially I thought what the Frigginell can I spray? bah so i sprayed ev wit parts that looked like they would move... then I decided to spray nearly ev. in the bay :P lol anyhoo.... the next time I drove it- It was a dream! now I can lightly knock the gears in...smooooooooooth so was very happy! in the following days I got a freind to (whilst engine was off) slowly engage the gears and clutch, I could now see the parts move n sprayed the buggers wit WD....even smoother now! lolololol

good going man... WD40 is a life saver... just don't use it in place of KY.

Shame I can't use WD40 on my hydraulic clutch...

humm KY eh? i wonder... "wait a min luv i know jus the stuff" ...tssssssst lmao

lol id better get some proper grease really in the long run dunno how long WD lasts....erm i used nearly half of a normal sized can (v dirty engine, n the water channel bits on the side wings were full of grime too. if youve lost ur lil red straw like tube thingy i found appling only a lil pressure on the nossel you can get a stream of the stuff to come out to get those hard to reach places, plus i had a few surface rust spots around the battery tray i wanted to get rid of and protect a bit. great stuff! but as for the moving parts ill pop down to my the local car shop to get some fresh grease on em methinks!

wd is great but i tried use it to remove my fog lights off the front the other day and not a bloody chance.  even after soaking them for half an hour my dad come home to find his precious daughter with his equally precious drill drilling out screws (and i forgot to mention the 2 drill bits i broke too lol)

after a swift bollocking about the correct procedures of using power tools (i am 28 btw) he agreed that the drill was the only option haha
