Title: whining in gear box

i got a whining noise from my gear box wot best way to sort it with out recon box

have you checked the gearbox oil??  is it leaking??

If it's whining already, it's probably on it's way out.  You could try changing the oil for a decent synthetic.. might buy you some time before the inevitable

Probably too late as its most likely the main shaft bearings. But check the oil first.

checked the oil and replaced it but not a high spec oil but it still wines might have to try a better oil

Use the thickest gearbox oil you can find.

hi pal same prob try mollyslip gearbox treatment,in youre box,you can get it from halfords for 6quid,it will improve youre box no end if no good still then recon or get a tdi box.
