Title: towing/pushing DSG
Post by: TeddyKGB on 25 February 2007, 15:48
Somethin ocurred to me the other day.. if your golf breaks down and it has a DSG gearbox? weight aside is it possible to push these things to the side of the road or do u have to get the front wheels lifted?

i would of thought putting it in N for neutral should allow u to push cus that normally dis-engages the gearbox.

I pushed mine in N the other day, granted not very far and it wasnt broken down!   I had to press the footbrake to enable N, as the keys were out.

Ah.. that makes sense then. I tried it before but I think some sort of brake kicked in somewhere :undecided: will have to check that.

It would make sense, as it would stop kids left in the car putting in into N and the car rolling away!
