Hey Guys,
after many many years of loving my 205s i have finally went out and bought a mark 2 golf 1.3
i don't know much about the car so please could someone give me a hand?
1. what type is it? it has a picture of a man playing golf on the back, no "driver" or "ryder" symbols so I assume its completely bog standard.
2. what type of alloys would fit? am i correct to assume i need 4 x 100 at 35 EMP (or something)
3. I have been on here for about 4 hours reading through everything, would like to say some of these golfs are amazing!
4. just read about HIC - can't believe how cheap! will be ringing in december to see what they can do!!!
5. having got bored on ebay i'm saving up some money - can a 1.3 be ripped apart and a vr6 put in or should i just buy a gti and uprate it that way?
6. Anyone be able to point me in the direction of wiper conversations for the front? is it as easy as the 205?
7. Finally just something i noticed last time i went tanvic - they sold me spark plugs with 3 pins rather than the normal 1, is that a gti spark plug i have?
P.S. Thanks

Welcome to the forum
1. Not sure on this one, sorry
2. I believe your right in saying 4x100 pcd although not sure on the offset
5. It can be converted check out this website: www.mk2vr6.com (http://www.mk2vr6.com) Loads of info about vr6 conversion and some very sexy cars to boot!
6: Venom motorsport or any of the retailers in either Performance VW or Golf+.
7. Not sure, I think it depends on the make and model of spark plugs as I have Bosch Super 4's and they have 4 prongs.
Hope that helps a little, I'm not one of the resident "know-alots" but I try.
Do a search for the info I haven't been able to supply, as I'm sure most of the things your wondering have been covered in one topic or another at some point in time.
Cheers
Dan

Arrow.
The prongs on the spark plugs do nothing except prolong the life of them, as when the electrode becomes to short, the spark will jump to the next nearest prong.
So whether it has just one prong or 4 it will bear no relevance to performance.

good to know - never said i knew anything about cars
is there anything in perticular that would help me understand my 1.3?

1. what type is it? it has a picture of a man playing golf on the back, no "driver" or "ryder" symbols so I assume its completely bog standard. - if its a 1.3 it may be a ryder but not sure
2. what type of alloys would fit? am i correct to assume i need 4 x 100 at 35 EMP (or something) - not sure of the offset but yes its 4x100 stud pattern
3. I have been on here for about 4 hours reading through everything, would like to say some of these golfs are amazing!
4. just read about HIC - can't believe how cheap! will be ringing in december to see what they can do!!! - do it,they hooked me up too
5. having got bored on ebay i'm saving up some money - can a 1.3 be ripped apart and a vr6 put in or should i just buy a gti and uprate it that way? - best to start with a GTI shell as it has all the anti roll bars etc
6. Anyone be able to point me in the direction of wiper conversations for the front? is it as easy as the 205?
7. Finally just something i noticed last time i went tanvic - they sold me spark plugs with 3 pins rather than the normal 1, is that a gti spark plug i have?
