Title: Mk2 8v GTi warning light
Post by: findy on 24 February 2007, 10:33

The story so far . . . . . temperature / coolant level warning light comes on 2 minutes after start up and continues to flash. MPG was down to about 20 so figured the ECU sensor was knackered and was pumping too much fuel in. Changed out sensor - no joy, changed out expansion bottle and sensor - no joy. Had to call in the troops, Co2 was running at 8%.  Adjusted timing and am now getting around 30mpg but the light still flashes continuously.

Anyone got and ideas before the red light ruins my life completely  . . . . . . .

Also breaking Big Bumper 8V 5 door if anyone needs any bits.

Cheers

pull the level sender plug & bridge the pins, if that sorts it your new level sensor is faulty.  If not the wiring, clocks or level sensor relay is buggered!
