Title: Flatspots UK
Post by: Mk3tank on 10 April 2003, 02:35
Got a Lazy MK3 2.0l Gti K reg  that needs 10000rpm full throttle every time I visit the local baccy shop. OK when Cold, but when the fecker warms up, it's flat spots galore. Had it checked out by garage with diagnostic hand held plastic box, but as per, everything is working perfectly Sir, and a bundle of cash goes down the Kyber. Do I
1. Burn the B**tard
2. Get a life and buy a 2CV (no difference in speed)
3. Get some decent advice from this promising forum.....
Discuss...

I've changed the vacuum tubes goin from airbox to intake manifold. Made sure all jubilee clips are nippped up good, and new plugs/leads/rotor arm/dizzy cap/differnt petrol/differnt GOD (?)

Please help.....everything was perfect when I owned my Mk1 Golf GTI Y reg 1800 for 12 yrs....then I met this sl*g...where have I gone wrong?

Take option 1 - or either give the car to me.

Either way you'll come to the conclusion that you'll be rid of it. hehehe  ;D  ;D  ;D

Nar, I tell ya what.. I'll BUY you a 2CV and PX it ya  :P

Anyways, nuff of the jokes, how many miles has your golf got on it? and when was the last service?

Ian.

Is it a 16v. I had a similar problem. Has it cut out completely on you yet. There is a pulley right at the bottom that runns y oil pump. Mine had sheared and was still turning but not turning the pump thus the engine not getting lubed and starting to heat seize once warm. changed the pulley for about 40 quid and bingo went like a rocket again.
