Ive got a mk3 golf gti 16v 2.0L. I hate not having a glove box compartment on the pasenger side!! Anyone know if and how I could remove the airbag?? If the airbag can be removed, can I just fit a glove box in or would I have to make it fit??
anybody got any ideas?????

Two points.
You can get a glovebox as fitted to the Anniversary model of a flip down type. They come up on ebay evry now and again.
To do away with the air-bag you would have to replace the complete dash.
I would then wonder if you would have problems at the next MOT with the new regs etc.

mmm! a new dash.
Did you mean fit a pull down glove box in underneath with airbag still in?
But how would removing airbags affect MOT? mines an N Reg

hi
you can get a lower glovebox for underneath the airbag where the small shelf is but i thought cars with passanger airbag had these as standard, you can get them off ebay sometimes but do fetch around £50 if you dont understand what 1 im on about i will take a pic of mine for you,but dont remove your passanger airbag as its not worth the hassle.

Yeah mate,
I think I do understand but would be glad of some pics to see what it looks like if its no prob. I'll know what to look out for if I decide to do it.
Mine has a little shelf and thats all, a bit of a pain when ur flyin around and the contents of the shelf go everywhere, so I don't bother using it.
Cheers
