I recently decided to get a new exhaust system as mine is a bit past it.
I got front and middle silencers (no backbox) from a company recommended on here, Jetex - http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/jetex_exhausts_chooser.php?mak=Volkswagen&mod=Golf+Mk3&mat=Stainless+Steel (http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/jetex_exhausts_chooser.php?mak=Volkswagen&mod=Golf+Mk3&mat=Stainless+Steel)
And got the backbox from a German seller on eBay - here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110088862127&rd=1&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110088862127&rd=1&rd=1)
When this came it was a full system - obviously my german isn't as good as I thought it was!
My question is - is it better to put on the Jetex (more expensive) boxes and the German backbox or the full German system?
Thanks!

Jetex are considered good. Know nothing about the German one so cant comment.
Whichever you decide it will be best if you fit a CAT back system. (Middle and Back boxes)

do you mean don't fit one of the boxes?
-
If you've already got the german system, why not just install that and see how it goes? (that's assuming you can fit it youself)
what engine mk3 have you got btw? as the german says its only suitable for 60-115PS mk3's which rules out the 16V.

i got the 1.6 74bhp AEE which I assume must be 8v.
I was thinking the combination of the german backbox and the other Jetex bits might be better because the Jetex bits were more expensive? Is this right or are the Jetex just overpriced? - i got the full german system for £110, just the two Jetex boxes came to £230...
