Title: wiring need igniton live wires?
Post by: sacvwgolf on 20 February 2007, 17:08
hi i am after a wire that is under the dash that only comes live when the ignition is switched on, not on perimant. i tried the cig lighter but thats perimant. i also tried a big red wire going to the ignition barrel i think but that's live as well.  any ideas?
thanks

This is only true on pre-90 MK2s (hazard switch on dash).  For 90 spec MK2s the D plug has ignition live feeds, but you'll need to splice in your own pins.  See my fusebox FAQ!
The other option is to splice into the heater blower wire :)
