Title: Chewing fuses - help pls!
Post by: Strev on 20 February 2007, 14:01
The fuse which opporates the nearside full beam headlamp and fullbeam dash warning light keep blowing. The lights generally are not great and I have noticed that if I pull the full-beam/ indicator arm towards me and hold it, the lights and the warning light all get brighter. Could this be a fault with the arm itself or a general earthing issue?

Cheers.

if you pull and hold it there it will fry the fuses as you light the dipped and main beams together.

the idea is, that you are meant to be able to flash mains when dipped are lit without having to pull stalk right back, i.e. till the arm clicks

check the wiring to the dim dip resistor, its located on the front pannel near the driver side headlight.  Its about the size/shape of a packet of polos
