Here you go, you can all have a laugh at my expense - even i'm having abit of a giggle at myself!
Two weekends ago I did a full service on my MK1, wasn't a huge difference but it started straight away everytime and the idle has sorted itself out.. I was doing everything including oil change / filter change / gearbox oil / dizzi cap / rotar arm / plugs / ht leads / fuel filter / injectors / coil etc etc (went all out)..
Whilst I was doing that i decided that i'd taje the opportunity to give the engine bay / engine a good clean, I took the alternator off, cam belt cover off, rocker cover off, disconnected most of the hoses, gave all the parts a good clean & degreased the engine bay, smoothed the metal parts & decided to colour code everything in a bluey / green colour - same as my car.
Anyway.. I took my strut brace off, left it to dry in the garage with the car over night.. the next day I put everything back in, looked great - except i thought it would be fun to see what it would handle like without the strut braces on.. (not much difference since its lowered)..
dropped the car off at the garage this morning for:
- Speedo check
- New gear linkages
- New 4-2-1 S/S Manifold & Exhaust
- New SunRoof Seal
- Windscreen
got a phone call of my mate at the garage laughing at me asking where my suspension mounts had gone.. LOL - i'd forgotten to put em on and had been driving around without em!!!! what a pilock, if i'd have a hit a curb or pot hole i'd have been f*cked!
