Title: hello- a bit about me
Post by: vw_golf_nutter on 19 February 2007, 12:47
hiya,
im new to this forum so be nice! Im female, 22 and live in the NE of England. I have had 7 mk1 golfs, 5 mk2 golfs, 1 mk3 golf, a mk5 polo and a seat cordoba so know a little bout VWs. Im currently living with my bf who has a mk1 golf project and a mk1 polo. Ive been into VW's since I was 16 and go to alot of the shows and meets, my favourite being GTI International. Im a member and moderator to another VW forum and am joining to meet new people and hopefully attend a few more meets.
Here is my current everyday driver/ project. She is a 1991 1.6 Driver 3dr in Pasedena Blue. (The BEST colour!) I bought it for £250 with MOT and TAX and have so far changed the wheels, grille, lights, audio and had a slight front ender with a porsche, hence the big bumper. Future plans are to colour code and get on the 2 big bumpers, lowered 60mm, refurb my speedlines and fit them, GTI interior, partial respray, 2.0 bottom end, GTI cam, weber carb and stainless exhaust! Got a fair way to go!
Anyways, if your still with me, hope to chat soon.

Hi and welcome,
well you've had a grand total of 14 cars, how many of them got written off
Lol, well at least you have a wide range of experience, be interesting to see the mk1 golf project and the polo, maybe post a few piccies up in the readers ride or projects section.
Hope you have a good time around here

hey, well im not a mackem, geordie or whatever, im actually from Kent! lol I moved up here a year ago to live with Steve but shortly we are going to move back down coz im miserable up here.
I have had 14 cars, well more actually coz some havnt been VAG but only 1 has been written off, that was my mk1 1.1, she was a beauty but unfortunately i hit her up a curb going too fast round a corner and the wishbone bent and cracked the chassis :embarassed: still 1 outta like 20 cars isnt bad! The rest i just get bored of, i could show you pics of all the cars ive had but that would take forever so here are a select few of my favs!
Steves mk1 project (soon to get its respray in black) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/sidewhitearches.jpg)
the mk1 polo, which is for sale and going cheap to whoever turns up with cash! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/wheels2.jpg) (ps. it now has pirelli P slots on)
the mk1 i wrote off :( (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/a717dgu.jpg)
me hugging my driver! lol (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/a675skl.jpg)
my fav car of all, the 8v (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/d769swf.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/d769swf2.jpg)
and my B reg 1.3 which i spent like £2k on! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/vw_golf_nutter/b265nsb2.jpg)
i have also had a 16v mk2, 2 1.5 GX mk1's, another driver mk1 and a few others.
Will make a project diary when i get the pics together of my current cars-
thanks for looking!

Hello and welcome.
Iv'e had a Mk2 Golf 1.8 gl (I think), a Seat Ibiza 1.3 and now my beloved mk2 16v, so I've got a bit of a way to go before I get to 14, although I did write off the first 2 so I'm beating you on that front! not sure whether thats somehting to be proud of though! :undecided:

well you all seem pretty nice and welcoming on here, which i must say is refreshing. Are you based anywhere inparticular or are you guys from all over? Do you all meet at shows? If so when will i be expecting to meet some of you guys? Sounds like you had a laugh at the last meet!

All over, far south west right up to Scotland.
Yea meet at shows etc. Most popular ones are BugJam and E38 but that might be changing this year. There's Ultimate Dubs coming up in Telford I think on the 11th March and the Viva Skeg Vegas on the 17th March.
