Title: What would you buy for £500

Have decided that i need another Golf, fed up of driving my Pug306 Dturbo which i am now selling.
I have a budget of £500 (maybe a bit more depending on car and condition) and was wondering what people would opt for.
thinking maybe a Mk2 8v Gti or a cheap Mk3, maybe a Vento?
What would you buy for the money? MUST BE A VW THOUGH not some ford Cr*p.

should be able to pick up an early ish mark 2 8v for that sort of money, average condition

MK2 8V would be my choice, you should get a decent one for £500 !

Lost out on a VR6 on ebay, the headgasket had blown 2k after having the head gasflowed, was only a mile from where i live  :sad:
