Title: wheel size and clearence issues?
Post by: Phil K on 17 February 2007, 21:21
Hoping someone can help...

Looking at a set of BBS rims that were originaly 6.5x15 with an offset of 33, but have had wider lips put on them taking the width to 7,5x15 and 8,5x15!

Will these fit onto a Rivage with a 40mm drop or will I have problems with rubbing?

TIA

(I intend to use these for shows only as tbh I think the Rivage looks great as it is - Phil the 'soon to be' new owner of Gibby's Golf  :smug: )

I'm pretty sure you'll have clearance issues with the 8.5J alloys, the 7.5J should be fine, i'm running on 7.5J 15" with a 40mm drop with no rubbing, but I also have low profiles.

you might find you will have a little rubbing due to the clipper kit, but a little cutting back of the clipper kit on the inside (at the top only) should sort this out.

I had to do this to make clearance for me Fat ar*e wheels and they are 8 x 16  Schmidt Revolution  Mordern Line 3tlg.  silver
(well I had to cut alot to be honest) but the results are just lovely
