would anyone or does anyone know someone i can speak with that know about putting a vr6 into my 16v 2.0 gti mk3. Or if anyone knows of a really good mechanic any advice would be great im in swindon and am willing to drop it off would i also have to change the gear box and drive shaft ? i know there is alot of work involved but i really like my golf at the moment plus its just had its mot and ive also taxed and dropped it 40mm front and back

Dont be daft - swap the minor mods over to a proper VR6. There are loads of good ones out there. Swapping engine's cos you've put some diff suspension on it is daft... It'll cost more to insure than a vr6 and you'll have problems. I'm never doing an engine conversion again.......

sorry to burst your bubble but i think its always best advised not to build a car you can buy, i.e you could prob get a VR6 for cheaper than it would cost to do the tranplant, especially if you are paying someone to do it.

and i'll make that 3 don't do it's.

ok i shall forget that idea lol

if you have a grand or so to spare , get a decent enclosed air filter ,exhaust and remap and i reckon your 16v won't be far off VR power anyway.

why anyone would let go of that great 16v is beyond me....with your cash thrown at the right spots on it....it can be brilliant
good tough engine that ABF.
nose heavy vr6 weighs 60kgs more....
