Had a problem with one of the wheels but the dealer has now repalced the damage one from stock (don't ask me why they have German Spec wheels in the UK but they do!)
Anyway had a sneaky peak at my car - needs a bloody good clean - and took some photos....

Mmm - which ones?

Tidy M3's that have been in storage for quite some time....

The black monzas definately look the business on your silver Ollieb7.
I'm sticking with my theory that it depends on the colour of the car though - the UK wheels looked superb on the diamond black one in my local stealer
-
The 3/4 Front on view does look well with the wheels complementing the Black surround of the grill. My ownly concerns are due to having black wheels on my own MK3 Golf
1) The one and only time I've ever scuffed my wheel was with a black rim! ok it touched up but it wasn't a flat surface like the Monza's
2) When I put my silver wheels back on, I was surprised how good the car looked! (The black where the same style)
I agree with laney and it does make a difference with the colour of the car. They would look naff on my E30 in black, Silver & Red does look good.
At the end of the day it's if you like em, however I wouldn't sell the original wheels, it could help sell the car on and I think trying to buy replacement originals in years to come could be difficult.
I bet you can't wait for March!!
I'm still hoping mine will be here soon!
-
I haven't like the look of those BBS style ones since the first pics of the ED30 came out but they look great in those photos with the silver car. That said, the black monzas look great but would be a nightmare to keep that way I reckon!! Good luck and lovely car!

Silver !
Black looks OK, just doesnt look that striking with the blackies on.
Almost looks like it has huge tyres
Chips and scratches mite be a problem dude with the blackies - then they will just look tatty
All IMO you understand
Dazza

The blacks look meaner IMO, I just wonder how well they's wear when hit with a few stones and brake dust, would they mark up easily?
-
Hey Ollie
Can you take pix of each of the front wheels, full-on close ups, like you did with the rear left in pic #3, only a little closer.
I just wanna see how much of the brake caliper is hidden behind the non-Monza rims!
Thnx

Fraid i couldn't as that stupid ladder was in the way - I have this pic though which may give you a hint

I'll take some more if you wish once i get the car.
I fully appreciate what some of you are saying about the danger of scratches but i think this will balance out with the fact that they will be easier to clean. Also i couldn't agree more with these wheels being wrong on a black car! But with silver i'm well chuffed - tempted with black mirriors though to finish off!
The Pescaras will still be up for sale as i see no point in keeping them in my attic for three years and after all bloody cars loose there value so much anyway that i don't think it will make much difference - the car still looks stock after all!

Any good?

Mmm...tough choice
I do prefer the Pescara myself, but I can see why you've gone for the black Monzas
Is that down at the bodyshop/storage yard of the dealer...I'm guessing the owner (John Clark) has that M3 stored there for himself
Mine hasn't arrived at dealers yet...should be within the next week or so apparently

Yep still the same place - Couldn't see yours so i hope for your sake your right - you wouldn't want to miss the 1st!
By the way if you like the Pescaras so much you wouldn't like a second set by any chance?

It's a shame they won't fit on our campers!

aye...going down on Monday morning to sign all the finance papers...they reckon 1st March is not a problem :)
...If you buy the TT, I'll buy the Pescaras ;)

Hi ollieb7,
I,m just confused now!
Black Monza's look the DB's
Silver Monza 2's look the DB's
Pescara's only look Good on a silver car (luckily mine will be!)
I may have to look for something a little more unique now
-
Pescaras look good on grey too
BTW, what's the secret to adding photos to a reply?
-
From these pictures, i think the black monzas were made for the silver ed 30 (and steel grey) to be honest - they suite the overall image of the car very well. I bet they look much better in the flesh than in these pictures though  I've personally gone off the idea now as my car is black and the whole car would just look like one big black hole with a red scrible at the front!
Got confirmation that my car has arrived - also sorted out the no. plate. Since the stealer told me it had arrived, i have this grin on my face i can't get rid of  They just need to fit in the bluetooth on Monday now. COME ON MARCH!!!
-
Stiggy - i had about 15 different options on the plate from the dealer so long as they all started SV07 MZ........... All Poo!
The wheels deffo look miles better in the flesh - photos do not do justice!
Think of March as a week on Thursday now - thats a whole heap better than oh god only two moths to go - saying that i feel the pain - so close yet sooooo far!!!!!!
Alanh - you need to create an acount with photobucket
Hudry - IMO (of course!) black wheels silver car is the only way to go - Black car with pesacaras (the high cleaning maintenance option!) the only choice. The former gives the unique (necessary for a limited ed.) but still stock look.
Still trying to make my mind up about getting the mirriors sprayed black - any opinions?

   - Put the other half off for a while which is good as the little 182 is an absolute cracker even if it is built out of bin lids!

Hi Ollieb7,
I currently have Black MOMO Corse wheels on my GT TDI and agree with what you say about black wheels on silver/grey cars. I have posted them for sale on the parts for sale section (obviously!), but am still wondering what they would look like on the ED 30 - even though they definitely wouldn't look stock

Have to agree too mate, wasn't a fan of the Black Monza's but they look very tidy on your Silver car.
Not sure If we will keep the pescarras on our black ED30, I quite fancy some Gallardo reps.

I'm finding it very difficult to cope since i've found out the car has arrived. I've only been once to look at the demo model and i'm restricting myself going to the dealers to have a look so that its more of an adrenaline rush when i see the car for the first time on collection . Everyday i travel to work, i pass the garage knowing that the car is just in my grasp; its parked up literally a few yards from me, then i reassure myself - don't worry, the day will come soon enough . As a result 2 weeks still seems like AGES away, so i decided to buy a gti keyring from the dealer to "compensate!" Not working though!!! And i think i will persist in not going to see the car until i collect it - should be a great feeling on the day!

From what I can see they have fitted Bridgestone Potenzas on it ? hope they dont put them on my Edition 30 , they were so bl---y noisy on my MKV GTi I was glad to see/hear the back of them. Anyway at 21,500 I put Michelin Pilot Sport 2's on the front, what a difference , quieter and better grip imo as I always say on this site, each to their own though
