Title: Replacing red piping around GTI grille
Post by: laney on 15 February 2007, 14:51
I'm sure that I've had more stone chips in the 2 months I've had the gti than on all my previous cars put together

The latest one has taken a big chunk out of the red piping arounfd the grille (it has also caught the honeycomb bit but not really noticable).  Is it possible to replace just the red strip? If so, does anybody have an idea of cost and how easy it is to do, or more to the point can someone completely incompetant at anything pactical (ie me) do this without making a complete hash of the front of my car?

Cheers for your help

Remove grille as per instructions: http://volkswagen.msk.ru/body/g5/g5_66-03.pdf - page 5

Carefully prise out red piping.  Hang in garage/shed until time to sell = unblemished red piping!
