Title: Licence plate bulbs
Post by: Kamaya on 13 February 2007, 18:49
After some help.... Mk3 golf....

Licence plate lights need changing, but the screws holding the cover in place have rusted so badly that I cannot get enough grip with a screwdriver to get them out. Had a quick look at the inside panel & I don't think it's possible to change the bulbs from the inside...?

Any help appreciated!

i think your best is to drill the heads off the screws and use fresh screws

Have you tried a giving them good WD soaking? Sometimes works.

I nearly had this problem on mk mk2 yesderday, in the end a stout screwdriver and a lot of pressure stopped the screw head being damaged.
The screws need replacing, but for now it's ok.
