Title: wot no fog lights????

just relised today that the mk3 16v i bought on friday hasnt got any fog lamps (some dogey reflector type things in bumper) now 1st i thought some scummer had nicked em and previous owner bunged reflectors in its place, but i had a look in side... in my vr6 you could pull the light switch once for front fogs to come on, then again for fronts and rear fogs, now on the gti 16v there is only rear fogs / one pull..........

did the gti's come with fog lights or was it an optional extra?? not bothered as it was something id put on and forget about in the vr6 then wonder why people were flashing me....

in typical VW tight fistedness , they we're optional.

yeah I was disgusted to find mine (95 GTi) were fake too. whats the bloody point? Im going to fit some if i don't get my VR6 first - yee haa!

Had those reflecters in mine but when i removed em i found the fog light loom and connecter aswell as the two stage switch so it was easy for me.........just bruaght some smoked fogs and indicators from the bay...job done.. :smiley:

btw i saw a few passats in the scrappies on  sunday and they had the 2 pos switch and matching fogs! Viva los VW! The parts are interchangeable on mk2 passat (i think mk2 - maybe mk3 but smooth bonnet / schoolteacher passat wi square-ash headlights anyway)

I got bits for my 95 gti and they were a perfect fit. The lightswitch is a b!tch to remove tho lol, take the whole wee panel wi dash illumination rheostat.
