Title: Oil breather filter

Just noticed i have a lot of oil in my airbox, saw a little oil breather filter in halfords.just wondering are these any use? do they affect performance? car is a 1.3

i have a 1.6 and similar sort of problem occured, i put a K&N  bolt on filter on and just used a pipe and and a red bull can to collect the 'breathed' oily air. However, i forgot to check it and it filled up and on exiting a round about, it tipped over the exhaust!!thought i'd blown it up!!

i put an k&n and put a breather on the oil pipe. i can supplies pic if needed

cool man pics would help, would oil fumes not be goin through the vents if it had a breather on it??

Just found this. some one has got a k&n bolt on filter with (i think) a oil breather pipe going to the air filter:

you can see the breather by the manifold which is on a hose which goes to the crankcase

Ye i put one on, i angled it down towards the gearbox so there wouldn;t be oil fumes coming into the car!
