On dubmarines they send poo to scammers houses.........True story!
-
Thanks for the headsup toby, actioned accordingly.
-
poo to scammers houses? i like that idea!
i don't know about everyone else... but i find it hard enough to save a bit of spare money to buy parts for my car without f**kers trying to rip us off.
-
Yep couldnt agree more, i think you should send a mol0tov through his window lol
silly bloke really will get caught in the end! Or he'll rip off the wrong person and will end up regreting it
anywy, i hope his caught soon!
-
Jeez, well spotted Tobz, looks like this W@nker has fleeced £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£'s out of people. Hope they get him!!
I retract my previous statement due to the new information that has come to light, apoligies to any offence caused to Caddylover, it appears we were all a bit quick to jump to conclusions. :embarassed:
I still think well spotted Tobz tho cos their were Striking similarities between caddylovers advert and those by the scammer! Im sure Caddylover would even admit this and hope he can understand why people where so quick to accuse him.
I hope the actual scammer does get caught and deserves everything he gets!
It is a shame to hear Caddylover was subjected to abusive phonecalls tho (i did not think there was a number on the add on this site?? was it removed as a result?).
Good luck with the sale of your items, you have some good stuff!!
-
you definately have to be careful who you buy off. I too have ben stung before when sending money off for parts. CHOPEYZ and GOLF-TSR were the usernames on this forum so if you see any of those selling parts, stay well clear!
-
gud on ya tobz for bringin this to light..the feckin @rsehole...
Dinx
-
i just read the original thread and tophers post, i hope that if it is this person who they have an ongoing investigation for then the police do catch him.
-
THIS IS DISGUSTING!!! How can you treat people like that? all we do is love and cherish our old cars. I cant believe people can do that sort of thing to each other and I live on the costa del sol! every person down here whos made themselves rich off other peoples misfortune eventually ends up skint and homeless and im talking super rich with yachts the lot! he deserves whats coming to him and it will happen believe me ive seen it happen loads before!
-
lets hope it happns sooner rather than later!
-
recieved an email this morning form someone called martin, the name that was on the post too, with a mobile number and it again said like the psot between 0900 and 2200..
anyone else getting them?
-
still waiting to confirm if it's the same guy, don't go sending death threats just yet
-
just cc'ed you on a conversation with someone from www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk about this
-
i was about to go talk to them but cant remember my password on their forum
-
UPDATE!!
Too much conclusion jumping going on here.
'caddylover' appears to have only made the mistake of posting up an advert that sounded a bit like one used by some scammer elsewhere.
I am convinced this has all been a case of mistaken identity and apologise to Martin for a forum over-reaction.
-
oh so whos the scammer?
and basically if you wanna sell anything, make sure your "for sale" post is nothing that one caddylover has used?!
Dinx
-
read the first post woman, gosh.
basically there were a lot of similarities between martin's post and another 'martin' who's been ripping people off.. just an unfortunate coincidence.
have to say im dissappointed to learn that people have ringing this guy and giving him abuse even though we clearly said we hadn't confirmed it was the same person
-
I did you pleb...but he uses different tags and e-mails so i was sayin does anyone know who he is other than him being called martin?!
I dont understand people who do things like that..its all abit cowardly and they are abit sad..
"im disappointed" you sound like a right old fart!
Hope you haven't had too much grief Caddylover..it def wasnt me as you'd recognise the accent..and being one of few geordies on here (unless they were off other forums)...
Dinx
-
so are we aloowed to ring this guy with genuine enquiries now?
-
 So caddylover isn't the scammer
I obviously got caught up in the confusion as did many other people on many forums.
I was linked to the original scammer threads on the escort/fiesta/manta which in turn were linked to a mk1 golf forum where a very similar thread was developing concerning a user called caddylover. In this thread caddylover had been labelled as the same scammer so when I saw the same thread from him on this forum I took a quick decision to warn people..........perhaps too quick!!!
I would therefore like to apologise to Martin (caddylover) for any grief which may have arisen from my original post on this forum.
It's unfortunate for him that the timing of his ad coincided with the scammer, it read very similar and his name is Martin, uncanny.
-
I'm not too sure, the writing and dodgy telephone number layout and punctuation are pretty typical of a scam.
Anyway, he didn't have anything I wanted!
-
Ha ha! does anyone else find this really funny? we are like bunch of stupid villagers getting in on a witch hunt!
i guess we should put out our flaming torches and hang up the pitch forks! classic.
sorry martin if your advert was indeed genuine.
-
I suppose that's the trouble with the anonaminity of the internet, it makes it all too easy for somebody to pull off this sort of scam in the first place. Likewise it makes it all to easy for a public forum flogging to take place when you suspect somebody of witchcraftery!!!
