Title: Stereo Illum wire?

Anyone know what colour the illum wire is that connects to the stereo?  Mine has been cut at the close to the plug and need to connect it up again if possible.

Light fading, I am struggling!

should be blue and grey

there is one connected to your cigarette lighter. take a feed from there.

Are you connecting an aftermarket unit? If so, you don't need a illumination wire, it's just left "blank". It's orange in ISO standard wiring.

What unit are you trying to connect and what light is "fading"?

Connecting a Pioneer 7700, but at night the diplay is the same level as during the day, so lights up half the car unless I turn it right down, and then can't see it during the day!  Essentially when I turn the lights on the head unit does not recognise this so does not dim.

Light faded as it was getting dark I don't have power in the garage.  God's way of telling me to go and have a beer!

my pioneer DEH-6400 is on the same illumination no matter day or night, if my lights are on or not
and that was just plugged in via an ISO.

there is a setting for the dimmer in the settings. but i have mine off.
