Rite, well i bought a gti twin exhaust off ebay for a tenner and was told by the seller it would fit my 1.3 as all mk2's are the same. Brought it to my local exhaust centre to have it fitted, came back an hour later and was told it wouldn't fit, i was also told that my old backbox was removed and they werent putting it back on. So had to drive home with no backbox and the car sounding like a tank  How easy willl it be to refit my old backbox and is there anything i can do to make the gti one fit??

its just a push fit, then clamp it with a zaust clamp. To fit a GTI backbox you need to chop part of your old zaust off near the rear beam, then get an adaptor fabricated so go between the pipe and your backbox. Why didn't you ask here first ;)

ye i know i should've asked the experts  ah well, could i get the gti box welded on?

yeah like I said, you need to chop the pipe off the 1.3 to the right length, then get an adaptor made up to increase the bore to the GTI box.
