Good Afternoon All
As of Monday, I am the proud owner of a Golf GTI 1.8 20v Turbo, lovely car and lovely to drive, one question which i appear to get differences of opinion on,searching around cyberspace is the BHP for the car, doesnt really bother me but when i did my insurance change for the new car it came up as 125 BHP, im sure it could be more than that and I dont want to be under Insured.
Also, i got the car relatively cheap and for that reason i was prepared to take the car with a fault, the fault being a knocking coming from the front passenger side (wheel), i think it could be either a wheel bearing or a track rod end, anyone aware of any common faults to look for?
Nice to meet you all take care
Regards
Nathan :smug:

hello and welcome
early mark 4 GTI's were 1.8 20v Turbo's with 150bhp and also 1.8 20v normally aspirated (i.e. non turbo) which had 125bhp which were then replaced with the 2.0 8v.
