For the last couple of days my coolant temperature light has been coming on more frequently than usual. I know its a common golf problem but it had been coming on from as soon as i set off. So i thought i would at least check my coolant bottle. The coolant level was fine, in fact it was over the max line.
I then noticed the battery was out of position and resting against the fan blade, possibly the reason for the light coming on maybe?? Anyone had this problem?

is there a clamp on the battery - there should be.

if the fan blades jam the car may over heat due to the fan not kicking in??

Nope, i need one. Yep im worried about the engine overheating.

there should be a metal clamp on the front of ur battery, held in by 13mm bolt

what he said /\/\, u should have one other wise the battery will be all over the place.
Maybe the battery was stopping the fan from moving.

get a clamp & bolt of a scrapper. and also stick a square of carpet under the battery. this will stop it sliding
