Title: Bloody heater vents!
Post by: Mk2Kezza on 08 February 2007, 16:47
Right, finally dug the car out this morning to get on the road to work, only to find that I don't have a choice where to send the air!!!!

About two weeks ago, I was unable to send the air to the vents on the side and front which you can direct. The lever still moves back and forth easily but isn't moving to correct flap - I could get air on the windscreen and the floor.

This morning I was covered in snow and so was the floor of the car, so of course the windscreen started to mist up and to my horror the blower is now sending the air out the forward vents and nowhere else!? Its the complete opposite.

Anyone got any ideas? Briefly on leaving work, air once again came out of the windscreen vents, then stopped again?

Anyone got a diagram of the blower system?

take the centre console out, and have a close look at the cable setup. I recon a cog has fallen off :)

I knew I could count on the Legend.

Thanks Rubjonny, i'll have a crack at that in the morning when its a bit lighter, and let you know how its gone. Its hard work trying to drive when the air isn't blowing on the windscreen!!

Well what can I say....? It was a cog that had fallen off as you said RJ. Removed centre console and the cog fell onto the floor. A few mins of trying to work out hoe it fitted and hey presto.

Once again.

Thanks
