found a breakers yard just off the m4 but on my arrival the mechanic there asked if i had the back fixed i asked him what he meant and he said that the axle was bend or he said it could be the bump axle or something like that he showed me how the wheels werent straight but the car has just had its mot at the end of jan and i had the new suspension put on to so ive got to take it back to the place i had the work done so they can check it. But would it not have failed it mot on that ? any ideas

I think he said 'stub axle' right? ;)
It wont have failed the MOT with a bent beam/stub axle, but it wont do your tires or handling any good. Its worth replacing the stub axle first, as you can do this without removing the entire beam.

yea it was just that i didnt know to much about the car and i asked the mechanic to let me know if anything major was wrong before i had him put the suspension on and stuff oh well so is it difficult to change the stub axle ?

you have to remove the wheel & brakes, then unbolt it from the beam. AFAIK thats all there is to it really! Best get yourself a Haynes :)
