I have just found out after spending a fortune on my car that the air mass meter"bosh" is knackered on the fault machine..
where can i buy one of there cheap or is it worth the risk buying a second hand one..

ello mate, what car is it for? if you type bosch in on google,go to there website and look for the uk outlets, theres a place in lincoln that i got 1 for my vr6 not long ago and it was alot cheaper than vw,£380 from vw £140 from the bosch outlet.apparently they dont do new 1s but they do refurbs on an exchange basis but when u get it u wont be able to tell that its not brand new, plus u get warranty! failing that, have a look at hardcore's thread in the parts for sale as he has a fair few golf mk3's breaking and might be able to sort you one out at a good price! oh and the bosch outlets deliver the part then when u have fitted the new 1 u send the old 1 back to them!

thanks mate its for a 1993 golf gti 8v

I paid £35 for a second hand one from a breaker.
The often come up on Ebay.

can you just swap these over without any problems wi the ecu etc
-
it worked for me on bout 3 cars ive swapped em over on,aslong as its the 2.0 8v gti then theres no probs,if it was 16v or vr6 then i imagine they are set up different!? but dont quote me on it!
-
You should be able to change them as they only send info to the ECU.
