Title: Replacing electric window and sunroof motors
Post by: l55lee on 05 February 2007, 10:52
I think that I may have found a bargain 16v GTI.

Apart from a small bit of rust, the o/s electric window is temperamental.

Also, the electric sunroof will open but has to be closed manually.

Does it sound like it could be the motors that are at fault and how easy is it to replace them?

As ever, thanks for your help guys!

Cheers

Lee

If the window is tempremental then it is more likely to be a fault in the wiring than the motor.

For further info , the wires when they pass through the rubber boots between the door and the body shell can snap , or even short .

With the problem being intermittent it wouldnt think you have a problem with the motor or mechanism .
