Title: mk 3 experts needed

here are my gtis, full car is 8v part car is 16v. I am keeping 16v but want originality, can someone tell me did the 16v come with 9 spoke or 5 spoke wheels as in the pics, where the 5 spokes original, also 16v has smoked rear lenses which I'm not mad on where they fitted like vr6? :smiley:

my 8V has rear smoked lights as well, think they are original  :undecided:

dont know about the alloys. Mine came with 8 spoke ones if that helps

I have the 5 spokes on my valver (painted black though) I got mine from a LHD VR6 which was from Germany, I hadn't seen them before anyone got any more info on them?

Hi

Top pic has VR6 wheels, bottom pic has the factory 'long beach' 15"s the 8v & 16v GTIs got after late 94.
Smoked tails came on GTI & VR6 and some later Cabrios/CLI/GLI got them too.

My 97P 16v didnt have smoked rears.

So I think they must have been an option or only on black cars perhaps?

Different markets maybe???....im in nz.  So the uk gtis do not have smoked tails, but the vr6s do?
Bit weird tho...my 96 8v was sold new in the uk and imported to nz in 2001 and it has the smoked tails (same as the vr6 ones)
My 97 16v (jap import) has them too. All the other gtis/vr6s here have the same factory smoked tails as standard.

The 5 spoke wheels are early 16v wheels before the long beach ones were put on both. They were on uk cars aswell.

Think they are called monte carlo?

Hey Vik I have a set of nice clear clusters that came off my Vr6 they were only a few months old £50 inc p&p they cost £110.
