my heater motor squeals on setting 1+2 and rumbles on 3 any ideas why and how do you get it out also can it be greased up or does it need replacing cheers
-
lift the bonnet and check the plastic scuttle tray for any cracks. the cracks will let water drip onto the motor for starters.
to get the motor out you unscrew the passenger dash tray. remove the foam material stuff and the whole motor should twist out with the housing. Cant remember what way it twists out
you can take the motor out of its housing by pushing in the three rubber clips and the motor pulls out. clean up the two bushes with electircal contact cleaner and grease it up if needed.
that should sort it

Mine also squeals on 1 + 2 so thanks!

Mine too!

Did mine a couple of weeks ago - what a difference!!
Gave it a good clean out with brake cleaner first, then got as much engine oil as I could into the bearings at either end (which is not easy). Left it overnight, mopped out any excess oil, then ran it flat out on my bench for a minute or so to shake out the last few drops.

common fault methinks, lets hope they do a product recall after 16 years...

Having the same problem, remember doing the one in the Corrado,is it the same motor and is it in the same place?

not sure if its the same motor or in the same place but its on the passenger side of the car and you access it from under the dash, cant see why the motors will be different though
