I have a Mk3 GTi 8v (AGG engine) and although have some basic knowledge and know how around the engine bay I would like help with something. The pipe/tube that runs into the right hand side of the inlet manifold, I believe is from the brake servo unit but should it have a circular hole in it - between the rubber part that connections to manifol and the valve (with green cap). The hole appears to be 'sucking' air if? I did own a Mk3 8v (ADY engine) but never noticed this before?
Also should the passenger side wing mirror glass heat up like the drivers side, have tried different pieces of glass but to no avail?
Cheers Andy

The ady and agg engine's are very similar..it's just inside they have differences..is it possible to take a pic of the pipe and i will try and diagnose for you!! If it's the pipe i believe with the valve in (with 2 rubber green bung's) if this leak's normally the engine would idle lumpy
regarding the mirror's both are heated and i would check ebay for a replacement as i got my last one as new old stock with the heating element built in.. The heated one has 2 terminal's on the back of the mirror which plug into the mirror wiring

cheers boneybradley, will try and get a pic uploaded 2moro
regarding the pipe it does have one green cap on the valve part but there is defo a hole between that and the short rubber section that attaches to the manifold, the car has been idling quite bad but seems okay now i have cleaned the throttle body and replaced breather hose but this hole is definitely drawing air in cos when you put finger over you can feel vacuum.
with the glass maybe im just unlucky cos bought two passenger side glass of ebay and neither work (i know the wiring is okay cos put drivers side glass on and it heated up!!
