I am about to fit a mastercylinder from the 16v to my 8v, I have the calipers, carriers and discs as well, was going to do them all together, now I know its difficult to get to the servo area, having to take airbox and pipes out, I was wondering if there is anything I need to watch out when removing and refitting the new cylinder? Is it easy to remove once brakes are bled? It looks to be two bolts then pull them apart, is it more complicated than this?

Hi
I have just replaced the master cylinder on an 8v, it just bolts to th efront of the servo - you can just get a 13mm socket on the nuts.
IS the 16v master cylinder actually any different to the 8v, I think they are the same but with an 8v there is a blanking fitting in one of the outlets - good luck anyway David

Yeah the 16v one is bigger, think internally, its capable of higher pressure, probably due to the 16v having larger discs and pads? which I am upgrading t o as well :smiley:
