Just tried that on mine and it didn't work. I pulled fuse no. 16 which says it's the combi instrument and glovebox light. i presume it's the right one?

on a 90 spec MK2 or MK3 its # 3, on a pre-90 MK2 its #21

Ah tis a 90 spec mk2 and it still wont work. Dammit! :angry:

check out the braided earth cable from the rocker cover to the coil bracket next, then retry the fuse.  You'll know its the right one when the MFA goes blank ;)

Cable seems ok but it still dont work. On my fusebox cover it says that fuse 3 is for the rear numberplate lights :shocked:
These are motometer clocks btw

haha I'm officially a mupet, its the other way round!
pre 90 is #3, post 90 is #21  :grin:

Did the MFA display go blank?  The other optiuon is to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds ;)

MFA went blank. Will try the battery tomorrow.

Battery is the solution on mine as I disconnect it at night and this happens quite often. Just take it off again and re-connect.
