HI, I have recently bought a Mk5 GT TDI but there is no arm rest and i would like to fit one. I have found a couple on ebay and a vw parts website (can't think of the address at the mo).
Has anyone tryed to fit an arm rest themselves? Is it easy to do yourselve or not even worth attempting?! I have had a look at the current centre piece and can't seem to find any way to take it out to then replace it with the arm rest?
Any help would be much appreciated

I dont think it ends there,u have to consider the air ducting for vents and so on,our first mk 5 gti didn't have an armrest and as part of the deal when buying it, it ended up costing us £300.00 (half price) supply and fit, well worth trying to get a vw dealer to do it for you I would say.

Thanks for your reply, I'm not to worried about having the air vents working etc. It's more a case of just having the arm rest for storage/comfort.
Has anyone try fitting one themselves?
