Title: Mk4 GTI key fob batteries
Post by: Oblivion on 03 February 2007, 12:06
Hi all, am new to this forum & im having a problem with my mk 4 Gti key fob.

I am having to replace the batteries every 2 to 3 weeks to make it work. Its seems that the fob is draining the batteries but I cannot be certain as surely when I stand near the car the locks will open and close continuously if the elements inside were pressing against each other.

VW are telling me to purchase a new fob which will take 5 working days at a cost of £160 which I refuse to do as I cannot afford to lose my car or that amount of time just for a new fob.

Like I say, new batteries work fine but only for 2 to 3 weeks then they die.

Any ideas on how to correct this annoying problem will be most grateful ??
