Title: help wet carpet and funny noise

 hi i hav a 1989 mk2 16v with 84300 on the clock i hav 2 probs
The first problem is a wet carpet in the passenger side footwell and we havent had any rain for ages can anyone help  :sad:
2nd problem is a funny noise i get when the car is cold or the weather is cold it sounds like a old whistle kettle going off in front of you i do not get this noise in the summer can anyone help :sad:

that wet carpets gonna be a leaking heater matrix, im sure someone else may say the same

Check your coolant level, if its going down and you cant see any leaks under the bonnet could be the matrix
