Mine's a 1990 8v on 185k - original engine, no oil consumption yet. Still awsome to drive. (Hope I'm not tempting fate!)
-
My old 1.6 driver was on just over 220,000 when I sold it, and still going well. GTI's only on 123,000.
-
Mine's a 1988 F plater 8v currently on around 182k but hasn't been driven on the road for the last 3 years. The Head has been rebuilt by me and before that it didn't smoke at all.
-
1990 8v @ 217k miles and a bit of smoke at start-up
still pulls very strong though!!
-
only got a 167k miles on mine :( lol
-
I've got my daily driver that turned 231K last month, not just about to turn 232k!

I collected an alternator for my daily from a chap in Winchester last weekend, he was telling me he ran a mk2 with 360k on it when she was scrapped. Engine still strong, bodywork shot.

Snap!
-
74K, or there abouts on my 16v
A slight deviation here, at work, we regulary serviced a Peugeot 607 HDi, used by a Taxi firm, for airport runs, about 4yrs ago, the mileage went back to zero, after completeing 500K!!! three months ago, the same car was written off, after someone pulled out on the driver, the mileage was 480K!! grand total, 980K, all that ever went wrong with the car in that time, was a blown up turbo, due to the catalyst being blocked, (apart from usual service items)

Valvers on 145k, 8v's on 177k, got an 8v on about 326k, but thats just come to the end of its life (driven without alternator or water pump!) but was going strong until that point!! Oh and I think my mk1's on about 113k.

damn. the plan was to run my 217k 8v into the ground giving me the excuse to buy a newer one... thats not guna happen for a long time now then!!
-
145k on my 8v, don't feel so bad about it now, seeing other people's milages!
Runs ok although uses more oil than it should and has some temperature issues sadly....
Oh well, getting a full rebuild and blueprint for my birthday anyway

a friend had a valver with 230,000 on the clock, was an absolute minter (fvwsh!!) and still pulled like a bear!wish i'd bought it!!
-
A friend of mine had a 1991 8V with 46,000 miles on the clock. Had full VW service history, was immaculate having belonged to his mum since new - he sold it last year for £1,500. I wish I'd bought that!
-
According to the Haynes manual, compression should be 13 bar new
