Right, what is the best engine to have in a mk3?? Coversions, standard, anything...
Whats best and why?
-
Best fuel economy / insurance is a 1.4

Fair enough. I cant argue with that!

2L 16V ABF is the best mk3 lump. It is tough, easy to mod and loves to be revved!
Dont bother with a nose-heavy VR6 imo.
***runs like hell***

One that runs, unlike mine atm.
-
Throw a 20vT from a Mk4 in it
-
chuck in an engine from an R32 and put a stage 4 turbo on it

That would be a monster

A r32 lump went on ebay the other day for £2000. How hard would it be to fit?! You need looms and all that but what about a gearbox?
-
i should imagine it would be a nightmare and a wallet buster.
225bhp 1.8T would be best i reckon .

What about a g60 lump then? :smug:
