Title: Cam Belt

I know this has been mentioned before but i can't find a record of when the cam belt was last changed on my 16v. The guy i bought it off said it had been done but i have not actual milage. How often does this need changing. I've just hit 150k and it's running like a dream...just wouldn't mind knowing for peace of mind.

vw recommend every 60-80k
i would do it every 40k
if there is no record then change the tensioner too.

how much does it cost to have both done?

with 150k on the clock it might of had it done at 130k but there is no way of knowing...think i'll just get it done cos it'll cost a furtune if it does go!
