Title: Strange 1st

its very hard to get first gear when the car has warmed up, but fine when cold.Second gear has worn synchro, but is fine when warm.
The car is a 1991 16 valve with 117000 miles on the clock.

Can any one explain what is going on.

think thats something to do with the gear linkages on the gearbox.

apparently the bits snap that help you select gear.

If it is that problem. I think you can get a repair kit from VW.

its strange how its fine when cold. When it warm I put it in to third then it goes in to first easy.
