just set fire to me golf :whack: yesterday changed the clutch due to slipping
found it had been contaminated with copper slip :beuj:
well after fitting i tried to start it with no joy
it just kept flooding so i wipped out the plugs and the cylinders
were full of fuel so i turned the engine over
and it shot fuel 4 foot in the air blowing back at me and the car
and lit of a plug :sniff: :slap:
lucky for me i had a fire extinguisher in the car from the last owner so to cut a long story short the reason may be this anyone know what it is and does
it broke and i superglued it with no luck HELP

are you talking about the thing with the part number on it? if so its a knock sensor, if the casing is split on the cable (which it looks like it is) you'll need to replace it.

^ What he said

Thought so, you beat me to it! hope the cars ok....

You won't try that trick again in a hurry lol

knock sensor wont cause it to not start, more likly explanation is you forgot to attach the gearbox earth, or the connection is corroded. If this is the case the ECU melts, so you'll need another! But before you do that, clean up the gearbox earth ;)
