Just enquired about getting a touch up pen for the gti from local stealer and the friendly (but utterly clueless :undecided:) guy on the parts desk said that the only pearl black he had was "Black Magic". Is this the same colour?

no it isnt

That clears that up then!!!
Does anyone have a part number for the touch up paint for Diamond Black?
Come to think of it, I think he plugged my registration into the system and it came up with the Black Macgic paint - can that be right?
(I feel like I'm asking stupid questions now but am getting very confused :undecided: (it is Friday afternoon after all!))

grab the numpty and take him into the showroom and show him the diamond black paint card on the wall and there should be some sort of code number on it? might help!

It is the same colour. Diamond Black is known as Black Magic here in Ireland, and throughout most of Europe too AFAIK. VW UK rename some of the colours/options for some reason, e.g. the 18" are known as Detroits here, not Monzas. Same wheel!

I went to my dealer to get a touch-up stick for Steel Grey (the marketing name) and again they didn't have it by that name. It's a VW/Audi colour called Met Grey on the stick. It had better be right! They did a lookup on my car's registration to find the correct colour...
