Quick question...should my mkV GTI not have a "low washer fluid" indicator in the dash ?
-
Only if you have the winter pack i think.
-
yes, i have winter pack on mine and it comes up in bright yellow in the highline computer saying " i need a drink"
-
ahhh....ok....oh well.
Thanks a lot VW....22k and you cant even give me a light to say my washer fluid is low...something the mk4 had and a lot of cars have as standard....your bean counter is working well!
-
Had this on the Leon, and the ear-splitting, WW3-is-imminent alarm isn't a feature you really miss......
-
i did not know my audi had one until it started flashing up washer fluid low today
-
Yes, it should have a yellow warning light, mine has one. (06 MkV no-winter pack.)
-
it may be that i have the highline computer, it maybe a feature in that??. is yours a midline computer on the dashboard?
-
I have Highline Computer and Winter Pack - definitely got the warning light.
Checked my 2006 brochure and specification booklet and the only mention of it is in the Winter Pack option.
Current VW Golf Options list still clearly lists the warning light as part of the Winter Pack:

I didn't have the winter pack on my MK4. But a warning light still came up and warned me that the washers were low.
-
should have one. no winter pack but got the gas charge lights.
-
Ok hang on, so I've just paid £200 odd quid for heated washer jets only?
I have a highline spec'd
and also Xennons
But the winter pack on the ED30 is the option with leather heated seats and xennons, @ £200 odd for heated jets and low fluid warning?

I was wondering about this, too. I have a Nov 2005 without the winter pack, so I assume from this I do not have a low warning light. :( My RX-8 had one and that cost the same to buy...;)
Ok - my washer jets seem very lame. I cannot give a 'short blast' like in other cars. Sometimes the wipers start before water comes out. It just kinda jizzes the washer fluid in a spray over the windscreen. In order to get a good 'wipe' I have to hold the lever for a few moments. Is this normal??
