Title: Anyone know of a decent 4 wheel alignment place in North West?
Post by: irmscher on 26 January 2007, 12:24
Hi guys/gals,

Does anyone know of a decent place we can get the camber set up properly on my brothers MK3 in the Leeds/Bradford/Manchester area.

Happy to travel, just to want to get to someone who's tried and tested and won't charge the earth for it.

He's complaining that the car feels a little unsettled, and a bit 'light'.  Tyre pressures are quite high at 33psi (205/40/17) so i've told him to knock them down but we're also putting it down to the extreme cold weather as i don't seem to have much grip in my car either at the moment.

All the same, we never had the camber set up after the suspension went on a few months back so getting it done would put his mind at rest.

We had the tracking and balancing done, and the car doesn't pull either way.  To the naked eye, the camber looks ok i.e. the wheels don't look out of alignment but of course you can't tell like this.  The suspension is Eibach around 40mm.

Any suggestions/advice welcome...

ditto i've used demon tweaks several times now, not exactly cheap but i feel happier knowing its at a place that knows what they're doing.

Can try Awesome GTI in irlam Manchester, just google the name for the site. They fitted my exhaust.

Also, give this guy a try in Manchester:

http://www.chorltonvw.co.uk

Dont know if he does alignment (give him a ring) but they are sound, know what they are doing and arent too expensive. Take my car there for anything that needs doing.
