Title: play in gears?
Post by: sacvwgolf on 23 January 2007, 12:41
i was just wondering if there should be play in the gear stick. when you put in to a gear, you can move the gear stick side to side quite a lot. is this normal or should i change the gear ball thing?

i not sure that there is any play in the box. i labeled the picture showing where the play is aswell as the gear stick.

where you put no play here, get someone to actually wiggle the gearknob when is in, and check, see if is turning, i was suprised when i checked, cause it was there.. if it was up the top you would have hell of a lot of rouble changing the gears as it would be all over the place if it wasnt tight
